Volunteer Requirements

Volunteering on a first Friday at the Club means organizing and leading a lesson/activity for the group. The lesson/activity can be simple or complex. It's up to you! If you are looking for ideas, there will be a topic suggestion sheet posted in the Telegram chat and on the supply bookshelf at The Club.

Some options for leading a class can be:

  • Leading an art/craft project, science or social studies class (this could be something your family has done in the past at home and want to share with the group or something new you've been wanting to try!)

  • Teaming up with your child(ren) to lead a lesson or craft.

  • Outsourcing to someone with a special skill or knowledge to teach a class.

  • Leading a gym game

All supplies up to $50 will be covered by Penokee. If more funding is needed please speak to a board member. Our group is usually split into two smaller groups, so please be prepared to lead your activity twice. Please be prepared to lead for at least 30-45 minutes for each group starting at 10:30a.m.

Fundraising is our main source of income, which is why volunteering for the May 1st fundraising event is so important. The event shifts run from 8am-3pm with two shift options and many volunteer positions.
